2023 BMW i7 electric sedan enters production

BMW has announced the start of production of the 2023 BMW 7 Series at its plant in Dingolfing, Germany. Both the internal combustion and fully electric (i7) versions are rolling off the production line. The 7 Series and i7 share the production line with the iX electric crossover, 4 Series, 5 Series, and 8 Series. The 7 Series is powered by either a 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six with 375 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque or a 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 with 523 hp and 553 lb-ft. The all-electric i7 is powered by two electric motors that generate a combined 536 hp and 549 lb-ft. The i7 has a 101.7-kWh battery which gives it a 300 mile driving range. There's also the 750e plug-in hybrid which has 483 hp. Whether fully electric, combustion-powered or, soon, plug-in hybrid, we have the flexible production structures and outstanding integration skills we need to manufacture such a diverse range of drives efficiently, stated Milan Nedeljkovi, BMW AG Board Member for Production.
