It features a 235 Cubic inch Inline 6 cylinder, and following that is a 3 speed column manual. This car was a custom restoration and built by randy church restorations as a replica of Royal built by George Barris for Larry Ernst in the 1950s. It runs and drives fantastic! It has a dual Rochester carburetors, Fenton headers, Appleton spotlights purported to be off the original car, has 1953 Cadillac hubcaps modified with 1953 ford grille teeth, front end features Canadian ford meteor grille, and the glove box is signed by George Barris, this is a badass ride that you do not see every day. THE STORY Created by Randy Church Restorations as a replica of the Royal built by King of Kustoms George Barris for Larry Ernst, this 1950 Chevrolet Bel Air is a faithfully executed homage to one of the most influential custom cars of its time. The original Royal's lineage began when Ernst, a Toledo, Ohio, Catholic priest and custom car devotee, legendarily drove his then-new stock Chevrolet to Barris Kustom Industries in California shortly after buying the car. The first Royal was subsequently featured in numerous magazines in the early '50s including Hot Rod, Rod & Custom and Hop Up. The restored Royal more recently made the cover of Custom Rodder and took the top spots at the Grand National Roadster Show, Detroit Autorama and Glenmoor Gathering. The Royal doppelganger follows the customization path of Barris and his brother Sam, who chopped the top, slanted back the A-pillars, shaved the door handles and fitted a curvaceous Oldsmobile front windshield in place of the two-piece stocker. Tri-tone paint and a Canadian Ford Meteor grille mimic the older Royal and dual Appleton spotlights are purported to have come from the original car. The custom cabin is loaded with two-tone tuck and roll upholstery from the headliner to the seats and plush carpeting. A deluxe Bel Air steering wheel presides over the dash with a radio and clock.
