Chaparral was a company based in Colorado and was in business from about 1968 though the early to mid-70s. They were primarily known for their snowmobiles, but did make minicycles in the early 70's tying to capture a piece of the growing import market for small motorcycles.
The Chaparral presented at auction is an original, unrestored survivor bike. The odometer shows 646 Miles and is estimated to be original, but not confirmed. The bike has been sitting covered for a number of years in the dry Utah climate and is in original, unrestored condition. This bike ws last running 2 years ago, with fuel supply from a temporary tank. The seller reports the tank should be prior to use.
These motorcycles are rare as not many were produced. This Chaparral presented at auction is perfect for getting up and running or for restoration to add to a vintage bike collection.
