We will start off with the exterior of this Malib. As you walk around it you can see the styling from the early 80s Malibu's. Upfront it has the classic grill and headlock combo, and down the sides where you can see the body is straight and has been very well cared for. The panels appear ok to be original and all have a great fit along with the hood, doors, and rear hatch. This Chevy has been redone in the two-tone blue color scheme that is accented by the wheel opening moldings and lower body moldings. The dark blue and light blue color combo was redone in base coat clear coat and has been polished to a beautiful finish. We can see that all the glass in this wagon is very nice as well along with the roof rack. To finish off this stance it's sitting on a set of eagle wheels that's for a set of Goodyear eagle GTII white letter tires.
Next, we will look at the interior of Wagon. On the inside it's done in the dark blue color scheme that flows perfectly with the exterior. It features bench seats up front and out back. The seat covers look to be original and in excellent condition, and all the door panels look to be original as well. The headliner has been redone and has a great fit. And when you say that the carpet is very nice also. Looking at the dash, you'll notice that it hasn't spent a lot of time outside as it shows very little wear. It has original gauges that are in excellent condition and working as they should. It also comes with tilt wheel and still has the original radio. Inside the cargo area we can see that the rear seat folds down as it should and that all the carpet is very nice as well.
Finally, we will get to the heartbeat of this Chevrolet. Under the hood it features the original 3.8 liter V6 engine that looks like it would have the day it was bought in 81. It has the original air cleaner along with the factory valve covers and everything has a beautiful detail. We can see that this Malibu classic comes with power steering along with power brakes. It has disc on the front with drilled and slotted rotors and drums out back. The 3.8L runs through the automatic transmission and the stock rear end. For exhaust it has manifolds with a single pipe and muffler that flows out the back. When we look under this wagon you are sure to be impressed as it is a testament to how well this car has been cared for over the years. All the floors and frame look to be rock solid and show no signs of abuse or damage. Also, all the suspension is in great condition both up front and out back. On the highway you couldn't ask for a better running and driving 81 wagon. This truly is a low mileage special classic that's ready to enjoy.
