Finished in black over a black interior, this 911 SC presents a clean, understated appearance that highlights the iconic silhouette that has made the Porsche 911 one of the most recognizable sports cars in automotive history. With 56,317 miles, this example offers an appealing opportunity to experience a vintage 911 from an era when driver engagement and mechanical character were central to the Porsche ownership experience.
Power comes from a 3.0-liter air-cooled flat-six engine paired with a five-speed manual transmission. The 911 SC, short for Super Carrera, earned a reputation for durability and dependable performance during its production run from 1978 through 1983. Producing approximately 180 horsepower in 1982 U.S.-market specification, the 3.0-liter engine delivers the distinctive sound and responsive character that enthusiasts have come to associate with Porsche's air-cooled powerplants. The rear-mounted engine configuration provides the classic 911 driving experience, while the manual transmission allows the driver to fully engage with the car's performance.
The exterior showcases the unmistakable design language of the early-1980s Porsche 911, featuring rounded front fenders, prominent circular headlights, a sloping hood, and a distinctive rear-engine profile. The black finish complements the car's clean body lines and gives it a sophisticated, purposeful appearance. Classic Fuchs-style alloy wheels further enhance its period-correct character, while the stainless-steel trim and traditional Porsche proportions preserve the styling that has remained influential across generations of sports cars.
Inside, the black interior continues the understated presentation with a driver-focused cockpit characteristic of Porsche's sports cars from this period. The cabin places an emphasis on straightforward controls, clear instrumentation, and an engaging driving position. The combination of the manual transmission, compact dimensions, and traditional 911 layout creates an experience centered on driver involvement rather than electronic intervention, making this car an appealing choice for enthusiasts who appreciate the mechanical connection of a classic sports car.
With its desirable 3.0-liter flat-six engine, five-speed manual transmission, classic black-on-black color combination, and 56,317 miles, this 1982 Porsche 911 SC represents an appealing addition to any Porsche collection. The SC generation occupies an important place in the model's history, bridging earlier long-hood 911s and the more modern performance models that followed. Whether enjoyed on scenic back roads, displayed at enthusiast gatherings, or added to a collection of significant European sports cars, this air-cooled 911 offers enduring styling, engaging performance, and the unmistakable character that continues to make classic Porsches so desirable.
