We purchased this Porsche from a gentleman in the San Francisco Bay Area who owned it since 2018. The car has a long California history and is an early example featuring the desirable three-gauge dashboard and short-wheelbase body. Finished in its original factory color of Aga Blue (6608) over a beautifully restored black leatherette interior. The original color combination, engine number, and transmission number are documented by its Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, which also confirms a production completion date of April 28, 1966. The car underwent an extensive restoration beginning in 2015, with the majority of the work completed by 2016. The restoration included a bare-metal repaint in its original Aga Blue, along with refinished wheels, restored chrome, new exterior seals, weatherstripping, and extensive interior refurbishment. The interior received new upholstery, carpeting, headliner, and numerous additional details. Mechanically, the car is powered by its original numbers-matching flat-four engine, mated to its four-speed manual transaxle. The engine was rebuilt as part of the 2015 2016 restoration, including new pistons and cylinders. We personally drove it approximately two hours back to Monterey, and it performed very well on the highway. The engine runs strong, the four-speed transmission shifts smoothly through all gears, and the clutch and brakes feel great. The exterior presents beautifully with deep, glossy Aga Blue paint, excellent chrome, and a very nicely restored interior. No known rust or signs of previous accidents.
