Big American station wagons from the early 70s were built to carry the whole family and all of its luggage in comfort, and the Polara Custom wagon from Dodge's full size lineup is one of the most impressive examples of the breed. This 1973 comes from the tail end of Chrysler's flowing ""fuselage"" styling era, and it's a rare survivor that blends classic road trip character with a powerful 360ci V8 under the hood.
Finished in a fresh Meadow Green, this Polara has a long, low, stately look that shows off the full size proportions of a true 70s wagon. The green paint is a perfect period color, and it gives the car a warm, classic personality that stands out in a world of silver and white. It rides on 15 inch black and silver JEGS wheels, a sporty update that adds an aggressive stance and a bit of hot rod attitude to an otherwise family friendly shape. Fans of big wagons will appreciate how much road presence a car like this has, and the long roofline gives it a dramatic profile from every angle.
Power comes from the 360ci V8, a stout Chrysler small block known for its strong torque and easygoing manners, paired with a 3 speed automatic transmission for smooth, relaxed cruising. Power brakes and power steering make this big wagon far easier to drive than its size suggests, so it handles around town and on the highway with real confidence. It's the kind of drivetrain that was built to haul a full load of people and gear without breaking a sweat, and it delivers that same effortless performance today.
Inside, green vinyl upholstery carries the exterior color theme through the cabin and gives the interior a clean, period correct look that's also easy to care for. Interior wood trim adds a warm, upscale touch that was a signature of the Custom trim level, and air conditioning keeps everyone comfortable on warm summer drives. A power rear window is a classic wagon feature that makes loading and unloading simple, and it adds a bit of convenience to an already roomy, practical cabin.
This Polara Custom wagon is a great chance to own a big, comfortable, and unmistakably 70s family cruiser with a powerful V8, a fresh green finish, and plenty of room for passengers, luggage, and good times.
