This 1953 Dodge tow truck is a unique piece of American transportation history with a story that makes it stand out from your typical vintage truck. Originally stationed at Stapleton Airport in Denver, Colorado, this Dodge served Continental Airlines, giving it an incredibly cool connection to the early days of commercial aviation. It has the kind of presence and history that you simply can't recreate.
Power comes from a Flathead 6-cylinder engine backed by a 4-speed manual transmission with a creeper gear, giving this old Dodge the gearing it needed to do real work. The truck sits on brand-new tires, and the original Holmes wrecking boom is still in place and functional. The towing equipment works, including the lights and the remote winch, making this much more than just a static display piece.
Whether you're a collector of vintage trucks, an aviation enthusiast, or someone looking for an incredibly unique shop or business display, this 1953 Dodge is sure to get attention. It's not every day you find a nearly 75-year-old working tow truck with documented history tied to a major airline and one of America's historic airports.
A piece of airport history, a piece of Dodge history, and one seriously cool old tow truck.
