This 1998 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am is a low-mileage, lightly modified example showing just 20,700 miles and three owners. Finished in black over a dark gray interior, it pairs the 5.7L V8 and 6-speed manual combination with a handful of well-chosen bolt-on upgrades that stay true to the car's character.
Under the hood is the 5.7L V8, the engine that came in the Trans Am for 1998, mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. The factory setup has been supplemented with an SLP intake, a K&N air intake, a high-flow MAF sensor, and a ram air hood, all aimed at improving airflow. A Corsa exhaust handles the output side, rounding out an intake-to-exhaust combination that sharpens the car's sound and response without changing what it is.
Outside, the Trans Am rides on 18-inch black lightweight flow-formed Forgestar wheels, a modern upgrade that reduces unsprung weight compared with typical cast wheels and suits the black exterior well. Tee tops are included, along with locking storage in the hatch for keeping them secure when the roof is open. Inside, the dark gray interior is paired with an aftermarket Bluetooth radio, adding modern connectivity for drives with the tops off.
With its manual transmission, tee tops, and mileage that is uncommon for a fourth-generation F-body, this Trans Am suits a buyer who wants the classic Firebird driving experience with a few practical updates.
