1990 Mercedes-Benz 300SL Gullwing Recreation by Ostermeier with Rare Rudge-Style Wheels: Midnight Blue over Red
This 1990 Mercedes-Benz 300SL Gullwing recreation by Tony Ostermeier with rare Rudge-style knock-off wheels shows just 9,627 miles and wears a striking color combination of Midnight Blue over Red Leather. It runs and drives great and is in absolutely stunning condition inside and out. Fitted with contemporary Mercedes-Benz W124 running gear, including a fuel-injected 3.0-liter M103 inline-six paired with a four-speed automatic transmission, along with independent suspension, four-wheel power-assisted disc brakes, power steering, and air conditioning.
While total Ostermeier production remains a closely guarded secret, it is believed that just 50 Gullwing Coupes were built. Each car was constructed largely to individual customer specification, with low-mileage examples residing in significant Mercedes-Benz collections. Representing an intriguing alternative to the original 300SL, these cars are increasingly sought after for their added comfort and convenience. This particular example is especially compelling, featuring Rudge-style knock-off wheels and a striking color combination.
