Offered to the public with either a Fisher or Fleetwood body, Cadillac saw most of its success with Fleetwood in 1938 as buyers had a choice of 14 different bodies to complement the 141-inch wheelbase chassis. Even though all models measured the same, each Series had its own distinct features that made them unique. Carrying model number 38-7529, this yellow convertible sedan was exclusively bodied by Fleetwood; as Fisher bodies were used on lesser Cadillacs. Available at a time when the Great Depression still had a stranglehold on the world's financials, only 58 Series 75 Convertible Sedans were ordered in 1938, making them one of the least ordered Cadillacs of the year. Today, fewer than half of them are known to exist, making them a rare and desirable group of automobiles.Distinguished from other models, the Series 75s carried tall, vertical, die-cast egg-crate grilles flanked by large Wagner halogen headlights, bustled back trunks, and large, bold script on both the front and rear bumpers.
