This 1972 DeTomaso Pantera is finished in red over black leather and is powered by a 351ci Ford Cleveland V8 paired with a five-speed ZF manual transaxle. Equipment includes aftermarket polished 15 Campagnolo-style wheels, four-wheel disc brakes, pop-up headlights, quad exhaust outlets, a Becker AM/FM stereo, a gated shifter, air conditioning, and power windows.
Interior:
The bucket seats are trimmed in black leather, and interior equipment includes a Becker AM/FM stereo, a gated shifter, air conditioning, shoulder belts, and power windows. The three-spoke steering wheel frames a Veglia 200-mph speedometer and 8k-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges for amperage, fuel level, water temperature, and oil pressure are stationed in the center stack.
Exterior:
The Pantera's bodywork was designed under the direction of American designer Tom Tjaarda. This example is finished in red and was repainted some time ago. Features include pop-up headlights, chrome bumpers, bright window trim, and quad exhaust outlets. The aftermarket polished 15 Campagnolo-style alloy wheels are mounted with 235/40 front and 335/35 rear Michelin Pilot Sport tires. The car rides on a four-wheel independent suspension, and braking is handled by power-assisted discs at each corner.
Drivetrain:
The mid-mounted 351ci Ford Cleveland V8 was reportedly rebuilt under prior ownership with Keith Black pistons and an aftermarket camshaft. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a ZF five-speed manual transaxle.
