This 1966 Ford Cobra is a kit car a fiberglass-bodied replica built in the image of the original AC/Shelby roadster, finished here in red over a black interior. Cobra replicas exist because the real thing is essentially unobtainable for most collectors, and this one delivers the format that makes the platform popular in the first place: a lightweight open-top roadster body wrapped around serious V8 power.
Motivation comes from a 460 V8, backed by a C6 automatic transmission and running 3.15 rear gearing a combination set up for strong, easy-driving power delivery rather than a peaky, high-strung setup. Braking is handled by front discs and rear drums, a straightforward setup that suits the car's road-going character.
Inside, the factory-style layout has been supplemented with TPI Tech gauges covering oil pressure, voltage, and water temperature, giving the driver a clear read on the car's vitals particularly useful monitoring for a big-block build like this one.
This is a driver's version of the Cobra formula: big V8, automatic ease of use, and the open-air roadster look, without the seven-figure price tag or matching-numbers pressure of an original.
