LaFontaine Classic Cars is proud to present this beautiful 1972 Buick Riviera a distinctive example of one of Buick's most iconic personal luxury coupes often referred to as the "Boat tail" With its dramatic styling long hood sweeping body lines this car is unmistakable and remains a standout of the classic Buick era.
This car is out of long term ownership and is essentially a very well maintained survivor with a beautiful repaint and some tasteful upgrades. Under the hood is Buick's smooth running 455 V8 topped with an Edelbrock 4bbl carb (electric choke) and an Edelbrock Aluminum Intake. Exhaust is handled by a set of mandrel bent headers which flow into a true dual set up with mufflers and tailpipes. This 455 has a nice deep sound! Cooling is handled by a 3in aluminum radiator and the ignition has been upgraded to HEI. This engine is backed by its factory 3-speed Automatic transmission that provides seamless shifts! Adding to the drivability is the factory Power Brakes Power Steering and Air Conditioning! This is the kind of car you can drop into gear and drive with just a finger on the wheel!
Looking inside the interior you are met with a very well preserved factory interior that is as comfortable as your couch! The crack-free original 3-spoke wheel is fixed to the factory tilt column and frames a beautiful set of original instruments. The speedo goes up to 120mph and the odometer shows just 70043 miles which are said to be original but can not be confirmed. Looking down the engine turned dash inlay you have the factory heater and A/C controls along with the Rear Defogger switch speed alert and a Clock. The factory Radio has been replaced with a modern Retro style radio that sounds great and does not disturb the aesthetics!
Underneath the car's original frame and floors are rock solid free of rust and still wear factory undercoating.
Included with the sale is a clean title original owners manual dealer literature a full size spare jack and lug wrench!
