This Austin-Healey 3000 Mk III BJ8 carries a BMIHT certificate confirming its original specification as a left-hand-drive North American export, built in August 1966 and dispatched the following month with factory overdrive and a complement of period options. The engine stamping matches the recorded number exactly, and the car has been restored with attention to mechanical function, including a working overdrive. Its documented history and matching components distinguish it among late-production examples.
The BJ8 was the final iteration of the six-cylinder Austin-Healey 3000, incorporating the Phase II chassis refinements, a 2+2 seating layout, and the most developed version of the 2912 cc engine with twin SU carburettors. Production of the model concluded in 1967 after roughly 17,700 Mk III cars had been built.
