1979 Pontiac Trans Am 10 th Anniversary Edition SURVIVOR! This is the one to have! Just one of 1,817 built equipped with the Pontiac 400 V8 and 4-speed manual transmission. Another 6800 came as automatics. It was the very last run for the Pontiac 400 and the factory basically used up the last of the legendary Pontiac 400s the had on the shelf in these cars. Besides its rarity, the car is truly a survivor. It shows 41,000 miles on the odometer, and although it only has 5 digits, its believed to be true milage. The car youre looking at still wears its factory original paint, stripes and decals! The interior is completely untouched and except for one minor seam split on the drivers seat, its virtually perfect. The paint shows some minor aging in areas on the newly developed soft plastic spoilers, ground effects and splitters. This was a known defect from the factory in 1979 and owner paperwork with the car explains that this was to be expected. The car is completely rust free and very straight otherwise. The special edition owners manual with paper sleeve is still in the car, along with the original bill of sale, invoice, Uniroyal tire warranty, consumer information, ETR radio guide and factory build sheet! An original sales brochure, two magazine ads and info sheet also come with the car. This car was sold new at Ed Jackman Pontiac-Olds in Ashland Ohio on May 23 rd, 1979, and therefore comes with the detailed paperwork for the import to Canada (Moose Jaw, SK) as well as an original US Title in the state of Ohio. The first owner was a Mr. William Fryman and the car cost just over $12,000 USD. Every 10 th Anniversary car came fully equipped with all options. Included were Silver tinted T-tops, power windows, power locks, A/C, tilt, cruise control, full rally gauges that light up red, and a very advanced ETR electronic tuning digital radio and 8-track combo. That radio/tape player with digital red display alone is worth a small fortune because of the rarity of them (only came in this specific car) and to top it off, this one works! The silver leather/vinyl upholstery, Silver Shag carpets, two tone paint, stripes and over-sized Screaming Eagle hood decal are all exclusive to the 10 th Anniversary Edition among many other details. Cars as original as this are being sold for the same asking price, but in US dollars currently. That considered, this car is priced competitively in the market for what it is and what others are selling for. It would be extremely difficult for a person to find another one like this anywhere! One of just 1,800, rare and has survived remarkably well. The perfect car to invest in for any serious collector.
