We have owned the Roadster for 32 years. We have tried to keep the car original and have felt fortunate to have found mechanics that know Model A cars and have strived to keep the car original. We have done quite a bit of work on the car during the 32 years as follows:
Rebuilt the engine. The top of the engine was in good shape but the bearings needed replacement. The engine is from a 1930 Model A. It is all original except the generator is now a new alternator and the shut-off stop is now neoprene instead of rubber (for safety).
Steering column was rebuilt.
Brakes/front wheel bearings were rebuilt or replaced.
Tires are in good shape.
Wheels have been powder coated.
Transmission hasn’t been touched and works well. (but it doesn’t have syncros)
The one problem with the car is that the convertible top has a small tear. All the (wood) pieces are there.
We have had the car in a few parades, but have not driven the car often or far. The car has probably gone only 1,000 to 2,000 miles in our 32 years.
We feel the car is a good driver or a good candidate of a major upgrade. Mechanically, the car is in good working order. We have enjoyed the car over the years and the grandkids have enjoyed the rumble seat. It seems like a happy car, everyone as we go bye wave and smile.
We are selling the car as is, with no warranty except it will start and run on delivery.
