Welcome to Street Dreams as we celebrate our 27th year in the classic and muscle car business. The Jeep CJ-5 was an evolution of early civilian CJ-2's and CJ-3's that had a tremendous production run from 1955-1983. During this time the Jeep brand grew from a small niche market share into the most profitable brand of its various parent companies. Also, the CJ-5 is still revered as a rock crawler thanks to its narrow frame and diminutive 83.5 wheelbase, giving it favorable approach, breakover, and departure angles. This freshly restored Wedgewood Blue 1979 Jeep CJ-5 is an excellent example of these classic and cheerful go-anywhere mountain goats. Beneath the hood is the very desirable 304 V8, rebuilt in 2022 by E&E Engine, that provides a favorable power-to-weight ratio and enough torque for easy crawling. Additional features include power steering, power front disc brakes, a Borg-Warner T150 3-speed manual transmission, sprayed bedliner on floors and roll bar, restored seats with new upholstery, good soft top and doors (not installed), a Pro Comp front bumper, and meaty 31x10.50R15LT B.F.G. All-Terrain tires wrapped around chromed steel wheels. The outstanding frame-off restoration was performed by the pros at Wagonmaster, known for their premium Jeep Wagoneer restorations that are often sold to sheiks and royalty. The first owner of this jewel, then his wife, drove until 2004 when it was parked indoors, then recently restored by the second owner. With only 39,110 total miles and a mere 20 miles on the rebuilt engine, this sweetheart is practically a new CJ-5. Off-road recreation has now grown into a multi-billion dollar industry, and the iconic Jeep CJ-5 has been leading the way for an amazing 71 years. Ray-Bans and sunscreen not included.
