Back in the mid-1960s, Pontiac's Grand Prix offered plenty of style and performance. For those looking for maximum dash to go with the class, a GP fitted with the 421 Tri-Power V8 running through a 4-speed was the ultimate. The arrow-straight original body boasts beautiful Starlight Black paint that is 90% original. It is properly accented with brilliant chrome and stainless-steel trim that is likewise original and in nice condition. The optional 8-lug wheels were added later on, and add the perfect punctuation mark. The car still has its T3 headlights and spiral shocks and the underside is solid as well. Swing open a door and it's the same story as the gorgeous red interior is all-original apart from the headliner. Highlights include bucket seats, center console and the fancy woodgrain and chrome accents that add to the Grand Prix's upscale vibe, as does the rear seat's fold-down center armrest. The factory AM radio still resides in the dash. Under the hood is the original 421 V8. Originally fitted with a 4-barrel carburetor, it now sports an upgrade to Tri-Power induction as well as a new dual exhaust system. The original 4-speed transmission makes for a fun and engaging drive, as do the manual steering and brakes. Out on the road, the GP runs and drives just the way you'd expect of a well-maintained, low-mileage example.
