This 57 Bus was restored in 2018. It is in excellent condition. No rust anywhere. The modifications are 2110 Cc engine and a freeway flyer transmission to keep up with todays modern day traffic and a matching set of Porsche Fuchs wheels from a 1970 911 T.
The craftsmanship of this vehicle is still intact showing the golden era of Volkswagen coach works. 20 of the 23 windows are original, three (3) had to be replaced.
The interior is period correct color and is Naugahyde. There are no rips or tears in the headliner or the three (3) bench seats.
The split windshield is with hinged ventilation, commonly referred to as Safari Windows.
The bus has a large sliding sunroof that transforms the cabin into an open-air viewing deck.
The mechanical aspects is modified power plant to accommodate today’s needs to keep up with traffic. Brakes are disc front and rear. Transmission is a freeway flyer with a taller 4th gear and a taller ring and pinion , this allows more efficient speed at a reduced rpms.
Exterior color is period correct sealing wax red and chestnut brown.
This is an excellent driver and will go anywhere. Always garage kept.
