Description: This 1946 Higgins Speedster is a 17' wood runabout was refinished in white and red with black bottom paint during a refurbishment that was reportedly completed by Jeff Oppenheimer, Vice President of the Higgins Classic Boat Club, in 2018. Power is from a 218ci inline-six paired with a forward-reverse transmission, and equipment includes a split windscreen, navigation lights, flag holders, stainless-steel deck hardware, and two rows of bench seats upholstered in red vinyl.
Interior: The cockpit houses two rows of bench seats and a padded engine cover that are upholstered in red vinyl. Features include parcel shelves, storage cubbies, a fire extinguisher, and gunwale-mounted step pads. The port-side helm features a white two-spoke steering wheel with a column-mounted gear selector that sits ahead of a varnished dash housing a 5k-rpm tachometer as well as gauges for amperage, fuel level, oil pressure, and coolant temperature.
Exterior: The 17' wood hull was refurbished in 2018, and it is finished in white with a red deck, a varnished transom, and black bottom paint. Equipment includes a split windscreen, fore and aft flag holders, stainless-steel deck hardware, and navigation lights.
Drivetrain: The 218ci Chrysler Ace Model M26 inline-six is equipped with a single updraft carburetor, and recent work included changing the oil and servicing the carburetor. Power is sent to the three-blade bronze propeller through a forward-reverse transmission.
