Description: This 1951 Muntz Jet is one of a reported 198 examples produced between 1949 and 1954. It was refurbished and modified under previous ownership with the installation of a 350ci V8, a 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission, a Ford 9 rear end, and power-assisted four-wheel ventilated disc brakes. The car is finished in yellow over tan pleated vinyl upholstery, and features include a Holley four-barrel carburetor, MSD ignition, dual exhaust with Flowmaster mufflers, power-assisted rack-and-pinion steering, and 15 chrome wheels.
Interior: The cabin features mid-1960s Ford Thunderbird-sourced front bucket seats with body-color seatbacks and a rear bench trimmed in tan pleated vinyl. Color-coordinated upholstery extends to the dash pad, center console, and door panels, while color-coordinated carpets line the floors. The two-spoke steering wheel features a chrome horn ring and a "Madman" Muntz hub button, and it frames an engine-turned panel housing a Stewart Warner 160-mph speedometer, 8k-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges.
Exterior: The body is finished in yellow, and features chrome wrap-around bumpers, a louvered hood, a split windshield, and dual side-view mirrors. The 15 chrome wheels are mounted with 205/75 El Dorado Fury whitewall radial tires. Suspension incorporates a coil-sprung independent front setup and a live rear axle with leaf springs. Braking is handled by power-assisted ventilated discs at all four corners.
Drivetrain: Power is sent to the rear wheels via a 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission and a Ford 9 rear end. The 350ci V8 features a Holley four-barrel carburetor as well as an Edelbrock intake manifold, air cleaner, and valve covers.
