1971 Plymouth Road Runner
Big changes came in the early 70's for the muscle car world. Multiple redesigns occurred but more strict emission regulations would be implemented which drove down high performance horsepower after 1971. This year also introduced a more fuselage design with a steep raked windshield, hidden cowl, and inset grille for the Road Runner. This 1971 is a great looking car that runs and drives well. The body is all solid throughout and it is painted in its original color of EV2 TorRed, which is often referred to as Hemi Orange. On the rear is a Black spoiler and it has the Black roof strobe stripes. The front nose is all totally chromed and has a great shine. It also has the front chin spoiler and the 383 Black hood accents. The car has a great stance and rides on a set of 14 inch Silver Rallye wheels with BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires.
Under the hood is the 383 Magnum motor which is what the car was ordered with originally. It is topped off with a nicely painted dual snorkel air cleaner and 4 barrel carburetor. It was special ordered with the power brake and power steering options making it a very comfortable driver. It also was ordered with AC but has had an Old Air modern R134a AC system added. The engine runs great and the 4 speed transmission shifts smoothly. It sounds good too through the dual exhaust that exits through the very unique slotted exhaust tips underneath the rear.
The interior is finished out in all Black and is in good condition. It has a split front bench seat that features headrests and shoulder belts. Through the nicely carpeted floor is the pistol grip Hurst shifter. The dash has a mostly stock appearance with the the factory gauges and a Mopar AM/FM/Cassette radio. It even has the stock 3 spoke steering wheel with the Road Runner "Beep Beep" horn button. The trunk houses a spare with the stock style mat which you can peel back to reveal the solid pan.
This is an all around nice car that would make a great addition to any Mopar collection.
Take it home for $55,000.00!
