In the world of classic muscle cars, few names elicit more intimidation and respect than the mighty Chevelle. While not all trims are created equal, this real deal 1967 Chevrolet Chevelle SS with a 138 VIN sits at the very top of the GM food chain. Fully repainted in its eye-catching red, this two-door hardtop shows off the Chevelle's powerful lines and intimidating stance from every angle.
Inside, we find a vast expanse of clean, black vinyl. A three-spoke power-assisted steering wheel that sits just before the column-mounted AutoMeter 8,000 RPM tachometer and a horizontal 110 mph speedometer. An AM/FM/Cassette radio sits in the center of the dashboard, just ahead of the simple sliding HVAC controls. Along the center console sits a trick analog clock and a perfectly placed Hurst T-bar shifter, just begging you to row through the shift pattern again.
Under the hood, we find a fantastic 454 cubic-inch overhead valve V-8 engine. This torque monster motor is topped with a single four-barrel carburetor, while spent gases are expelled via a set of long tube headers and out through a sweet-sounding FlowMaster dual exhaust. Those ponies are routed through a traditional Muncie four-speed manual transmission before being sent to a 12-bolt rear axle that helps this SS explode off the line. Stopping power is provided by power brakes, with discs up front!
