But the builders of this awesome ride obviously weren't content to rest on the aesthetic laurels it began with. Dressed in a burgundy and cream color scheme that's ornamented by intricate air brushing and cream accent stripes, this Chevy shows plenty of skilled craftsmanship from front to back. Its sturdy steel body, accompanied by steel running boards, is also much more impervious to stress cracking than a lot of its rivals, so it's well-positioned to turn heads for many years to come.
Inside, the fully custom beige vinyl interior is a definite conversation piece. Featuring diamond stitching on both the pair of plush bucket seats and the door panels to each side, this is a driving environment you'll enjoy spending lots of time in. Up front, the collection of white-faced VDO gauges looks great in the instrument cluster, and several vents have been seamlessly integrated into the dash area. All the components for the Vintage Air climate control system are in place, but it will need a bit of attention to get it back to full functionality. Joined by a smooth-functioning 3-speed TH350 automatic transmission, the engine is running in fine form, sending a pleasingly deep note out of the coated shorty headers leading to a pair of Turbo mufflers. An added belt-driven cooling fan pairs with an upgraded Walker aluminum radiator to keep temperatures under control in more demanding driving conditions. This classic is equipped with plenty of stopping ability as well. Four-wheel power disc brakes that feature Wilwood drilled and slotted rotors bring things to a halt in short order when called upon, while power steering makes for low-effort navigation.
