OVERVIEW
One of 69 V-code 440 SIX PACK Super Bees with Automatic Transmission. The Super Bee was Dodge's High-Performance value leader, typically sparsely optioned. This example stands out in High Impact EV2 HEMI Orange over Black and White interior.
Factory Broadcast Sheet, original selling dealer invoice, and original fender tag confirm smart appointments: Dual Mirrors, Hood Pins, Chrome Exhaust Tips, and body-color 15""x7"" steelies with standard hubcaps. Factory G60x15"" raised white letter bias-ply tires were replaced with steel-belted radials for better road feel. A 14"" bias-ply spare and steel wheel remain in the trunk (no spare codes on the broadcast sheet).
The 385-hp 440 SIX PACK is backed by the high-performance 727 Automatic and A36 Performance Axle Package (3.55:1 Sure Grip), with power front discs and rear drums. HEMI-specification handling package provides the road manners.
A comprehensive mechanical restoration was completed in 2008 with extensive notes. MMC Elite Vehicle Inspection on 8/17/2018 graded the car 2.3 (""Well-restored, or a combination of superior restoration and excellent original""). It has been driven fewer than 400 miles since and carefully stored in a climate-controlled environment.
EXTERIOR
Wise report confirms original OEM dashboard VIN, primary body VIN on the radiator core support, and secondary body VIN on the cowl are intact. Super Bee package includes black-finished hood bulge, black tape stripes, ""Super Bee"" hood roundel, callouts and badges, and dual exhaust ""bazooka"" tips. Overall paint condition rated 8/10 with no major flaws; panel gaps even; brightwork and chrome excellent.
INTERIOR
Blends Charger 500 basics with performance features including the Rallye instrument cluster. Black-and-white high-contrast interior features a ""honey slide"" front bench seat and full high-performance gauges (150-mph speedometer, tachometer, oil, temp, fuel, alternator). Options include R11 Radio, rear armrest, and A01 Light Group.
Interior restoration was thorough: instrument cluster replaced, tachometer repaired and refurbished, heater core, all HVAC foam/seals/gaskets, and blower motor replaced; internal air passages cleaned. Everything works and is in excellent condition.
ENGINE BAY
Factory-original 440 SIX PACK is detailed with factory date-coded wires, hoses, and OEM-style clamps. Only deviations: body-colored hood latch spring and aftermarket battery for reliability. Blackout treatment on the radiator support is present.
Restoration included dropping the K-member, fully removing engine and transmission for rebuild. Engine compartment cleaned and detailed; new engine/transmission mounts and all mounting hardware (including shift linkage bushings) installed. Steering box cleaned, rebuilt, painted, and reinstalled with new pitman arm.
Engine work: all new gaskets, seals, timing chain/gears, timing cover, expansion plugs, oil pan, and windage tray before repaint. All three Holley carburetors rebuilt with new vacuum diaphragms. Fuel pump, push rod, and separator/filter replaced. Water pump, thermostat, coolant hoses, fan clutch, and radiator are date-code correct. New date-coded Mopar ignition wires, Autolite plugs, coil, voltage regulator, battery cables, and ground strap.
Turn-key and ready to show under the hood.
CHASSIS
Undercarriage free of frame or floor-pan corrosion thanks to factory J55 undercoat. K-frame removed, prepped, and painted along with front spindles, lower control arms, strut rods, drag link, and sway bars. All worn steering linkage replaced (inner/outer tie rods, adjuster sleeves, idler arm). Suspension bushings replaced with polyurethane; torsion bars cleaned/repainted with new dust boots and clips.
Original brake rotors resurfaced; pads, caliper hardware, and inner/outer wheel bearings replaced. Parking brake cables replaced and mechanism repaired. Chassis fasteners and small brackets bead-blasted and re-plated correctly. Driveshaft removed, balanced, rebuilt with new U-joints. Rear axle housing checked and serviced.
All-new high-performance KYB shocks (front and rear), blasted, prepped, and painted black. Complete exhaust system replaced from manifolds to tips, including hangers, mounts, and clamps. All rubber fuel/vent lines and clamps replaced.
HEMI-spec suspension, exhaust, and braking show normal signs of post-restoration use; a detail session would prepare it for under-car show display.
DOCUMENTATION AND VIN
Sold new November 24, 1970 by Hammock Rand Motors of Blackstone, Virginia for $3,700 cash (original sales invoice). Stopping Distance card, original owner's manual, factory broadcast sheet, and original Warranty Card with the first owner's name are present.
Wise Vehicle Inspection Report verifies Dash VIN, Fender Tag, Door Label, Primary and Secondary Body VINs, plus VIN stamps on engine and transmission are intact, numbers-matching, and conform to original equipment.
Extensive owner history includes historical titles plus decades of maintenance and restoration notes. Documentation and originality meet the highest collector standards.
The restoration presents well and remains enjoyable to drive. Outstanding color combination suits the Super Bee's aggressive character. Correctly restored, factory 440 Six Pack Super Bee with strong colors, original driveline, factory documentation, and third-party inspection support-this example delivers the look, sound, and credibility expected of a top-tier Mopar muscle car.
