1956 Studebaker Transtar Deluxe Pickup For Sale Rare 224ci Route Star V8 * 3-Speed Manual With Overdrive * Beautifully Restored * Showing 13,178 Miles This 1956 Studebaker Transtar Deluxe Pickup is a beautifully restored example with a super-straight body, distinctive Studebaker styling, and an especially desirable drivetrain combination. Under the hood is Studebaker's 224ci V8, known as the Route Star V8 for 1956. The 224 was used for only a relatively short period in Studebaker's E-Series trucks and was discontinued for the following 3E series, making it an interesting and increasingly uncommon engine to find today. Even better, it's paired with a 3-speed column-shift manual transmission with overdrive. The overdrive makes this vintage pickup much more comfortable at cruising speeds while retaining the classic three on the tree driving experience.
