1975 Chevrolet Vega 2-dr Wagon Blown Pro Street. This is one crazy Grocery Getter The 2-dr wagons are rare to begin with. Now this one has major attitude. Under the hood is a small block 350 with alloy heads, dual Holley carbs and intake and a 671 Dyers blower on top. Its amazing that the little Vega actually manages to swallow most of the engine with just a bit of the blower poking out of the hood. Behind that is a TH-400 with trans brake. Its set up for nitrous, but theres no bottle currently. There still a bit of the original interior left, the dash is in very nice shape, but now theres racing buckets with 5-point harnesses, a roll cage and in place of the rear seat is one giant tub running from fender to fender to accommodate the huge slicks out back. The tires are wider than the rear axle! That short axle is a Dana 60 with 4:10 gears. A fuel cell is located under the trunk floor, and the battery is now out back. Its got line lock and lots of extra gauges to mange the vitals as well as a racing shifter for the automatic trans, which has a manual valve body. The Roll cage has a removable section for the driver which is nice. Its a pleasant surprise how well the car is tuned. It fires up instantly and idles well. It sounds killer (obviously). The paint is very well done from top to bottom in an electric blue thats very striking and grocery getter graphics have been added to the rear window fill panels on each side. Some history of the car is known, thanks to a customer who recognized the car. He shared the VIN with his dad, and in fact this is the car that his mom drove around in from 1977 till 1982! At that time, it had a 4-cylinder and a manual transmission. Apparently, it did a few family vacation road trips to California and Florida. What a small world! The story gs that this has been a drag car in one form or another since the late 80s. It certainly stands out and turns heads and can still be easily driven to any car show. The car shows 35,000 miles, but with engine swaps, true milage unknown.
