The ongoing global chip shortage has certainly led manufacturers to do weird measures to swim through the tide. In 2021, BMW has removed touch screen on certain models, while some brands won't even build a car at all if it did not come with the necessary chips. Chevrolet, on the other hand, thinks that deleting the Rear Park Assist feature will help them manage the shortage in chips.
