1966 Chevrolet Biscayne
INTRODUCTION: This car is an absolute knockout! Everything about it works- the sleeper look, aggressive tires and stance, killer color combination, and of course the performance to back it all up. Under the hood is a supercharged LS putting out serious power, but the entire car is built to be driven and enjoyed. It looks incredible sitting still, but wait until you get behind the wheel. EXTERIOR: The gentleman we acquired it from was a body man for 30 years, and his experience certainly shows. The panels fit very nicely, there's no rust, and looking down each side it is straight and smooth. It has a clean, understated appearance with all the emblems removed and no antenna, although it does retain the bow tie mirrors flanking each door. The bumpers have show quality chrome, while the grille and stainless trim around the windows have all been restored. All of the glass was replaced with smoked glass, and the weatherstrips were replaced as well. Best of all, it maintains that old school look of a post sedan, rolling on 15-inch steel wheels with poverty hubcaps. It has Cooper tires, extra fat in back which might be your first clue that there's something muscular lurking under the hood. INTERIOR: Stunning in red and absolutely pristine, this interior captures the essence of a '66 Biscayne while incorporating modern comfort and style. Starting on the floor, it has a beautifully fitted red carpet with matching mats. The two sport bucket seats are very comfortable, and I love how they were upholstered in vintag style fabric that looks right at home in the car. Both the driver and passenger seats are power. The rear seat was rebuilt and reupholstered to match. The side panels are all new reproductions, including the armrests, window cranks and handles. Overhead is a new red headliner and matching visors, all fitting tight with no wrinkles. The entire dash area is pristine. It has a new dash pad and instrument bezel with a sparkling chrome outline, along with a full set of custom gauges. The climate control panel has been upgraded with Vintage Air system with electric slides. A custom center console features an armrest, large storage compartment and cup holders, and it houses a touchscreen Kenwood stereo with hands free controls. Speakers are built into the console along with 6x9s in back. It also has a tilt column with a polished wood rim steering wheel and an upgraded wiring system with modern blade style fuses. It's exceptionally clean and tidy, right down to the smallest details. ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Very clean, tidy and impressive engine compartment. At the heart of it is a 6.0-liter LS with CNC-ported LS3 heads, an LS9 cam and an LSA supercharger, producing approximately 750 horsepower! It has coated headers, a serpentine front runner system and an AMW air/oil separator for the PCV system. The firewall and inner fenders have been smoothed, and all the metal is beautifully finished in silver. It has modern heat and air with the lines neatly concealed behind the inner fender and billet fittings where they pass through the firewall. A Champion aluminum radiator with dual electric fans keeps it cool, and even the hoses use premium compression style clamps. It also features power steering with a remote polished reservoir, an all new power brake system, upgraded Newport Engineering wipers and a modern alternator. Everything is thoughtfully installed and neatly organized, giving the entire engine compartment a very clean, high end appearance. TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Under the trunk lid and throughout the jamb, it's painted slick Lunar Silver. The weatherstrip has been replaced, and opening the trunk reveals a great pop of red. Fresh carpet covers the floor, and the entire compartment is completely boxed and upholstered for a very clean, finished appearance. A rear panel opens to reveal the subwoofer and relocated Optima battery, neatly secured with a billet hold down. UNDERSIDE: The body was off the frame and everything underneath this car has been restored or replaced. The frame was powder coated and all of the suspension is new, including tubular components, front and rear sway bars, and a four-link rear setup with a Panhard bar. The steering is all new with CPP components. The brake system was completely redone with disc brakes in front, stainless lines, and all new components including the e-brake. The fuel system is equally impressive with stainless lines, a Rick's stainless fuel tank, ZL1 fuel pump, and VaporWorx controller. It has a beautiful MagnaFlow stainless exhaust system with an X-pipe. Looking up at the motor, there's a Holley aluminum oil pan and high torque starter. The 4L80E overdrive automatic transmission uses an ATI 10% overdrive damper. The rebuilt driveshaft has heavy-duty 1350 U-joints and connects to a 12-bolt rear end with 3.90 posi gears. From the nuts and bolts to the springs, shocks, U-joints, steering, suspension, brakes and fuel system, virtually every component underneath this car has been replaced. SERVICE: We take pride in our cars and our reputation. Every vehicle goes through our service department where it is inspected, test driven, and we address the essentials before offering it for sale. CONCLUSION: You're more than welcome to come see it in person. If you're on the fence, I have a feeling that'll be the deciding factor. Once you see the quality for yourself, hear that supercharged LS come to life and take it for a ride around the block, you'll be coming back inside to sign the papers! Vehicles are displayed in a museum setting. Admission applies without an appointment and is refunded with purchase, including a one-year museum membership. 815-385-3644 (9"5 Central) Sales@VoloCars.com - Prompt responses Supercharger Power steering Power disc brakes 12 bolt 3.90 posi Tilt deluxe wheel Bucket seats Power seats Console Custom gauges Touchscreen stereo Seatbelts Smoked glass Poverty wheels
